从第四章开始是我非常感兴趣的部分。最后一章吓死人了，怕怕……

A brief academic history. NMES作为Oriental Studies的一部分确实历史悠久，但作为Area Studies却算是新近的学科。最后一章谈到NMES近二十年来的发展，可以看出美国的NMES是多么policy-oriented...以及哥大MESAAS真是神仙faculty，Mitchell+Khalidi我头都掉了！
