Setting: Each story in the book is completely separate from the others. The stories take place at different times, and in different places around the world. In “Running for her life”, it is set around Cuba. In “The River to Freedom”, the setting is in Sudan. “The Housewife Spy” talks about Wartime Europe. “Fighting for the Forest” is set in Brazil. In “Prisoner for Peace”, it is fixed in Burma. Both “A Mountain Accident” and “The True Courage of Erin Brockovich” are about people in the USA. The final story – “A Doctor, a Father, and his Son” is set in Japan.
