Driving the sustainability agenda is a shared concern for the future of the planet. However, while the need to change is generally accepted, sustainability is difficult to define and still requires major changes in attitudes, in society, in the operation of economies and in the influence of economic thought. This report argues that in the short term much can be achieved through practical, incremental steps in the right direction - seeking to "reduce unsustainability" as much to achieve sustainability. It provides illustrative policies, programmes and projects, and suggests lifestyle changes in the hope of identifying future directions for sustainability.
