明明是一本正經的學術著作，竟然引起我的鄉愁瞭（笑

我感覺這本書最大的問題在於，有點馬剋思主義傾嚮。在機械唯物主義下一切關係都是可以競爭關係。可是真的這些事是刻意發生的嗎？其次，當年那些道士和尚真的分得清什麼是道教什麼是佛教嗎?尤其是唐朝之前六朝的時候，當時簡直宗教認同簡直是一團糟，怎麼能斷定佛教和道教是獨立存在的兩個宗教實體呢？

題材有趣，不管佛道把自己的思想標得多超脫，作為宗教都是不得不迴應與解決俗世睏擾的，如何吃，行，延年益算，驅鬼除噩夢。作者的推斷是，往往一個宗教率先討論瞭某個俗世睏擾，同期的另一個教就迫切地要想齣對應的對策，而由於時間迫切，或是沒有更好的材料組織，這個對策很有可能是粗暴的奪取另一邊的想法和模闆。至於哪一個傳統被接納，推崇，存活得更久，其實不取決於其內容或宗派，而更多在於他的accessibility and availbility to local practitioners.
