This book is a small sampling of work from winners in the 2000 Missouri Missouri Writers Guild contest. There are 28 writers represented in the book. Contents include short stories, both fiction and non-fiction and poetry and essays. The selections in this book were chosen for publication from 75 winners in 25 categories, and from a total of approximately 375 entries in the contest.

Included are human-interest stories and personal experiences of some of the writers. It brings together a wonderful variety of voices and styles of some of the finest Missouri writers. In all, there are 60 pieces of work by these represented authors.
