我對華茲華斯真的愛不起來……站在藝術的角度來說，我很贊成他說的詩歌應該是強烈感情的自然流露，但是如果真的要讀這樣的詩我還是很抗拒的。我的審美早就定型瞭，對於詩歌也更偏愛華麗的類型（從我熱愛Alexander Pope就能看齣來……），浪漫派的詩人裏我也更喜歡柯勒律治和Keats。讀華茲華斯早期的詩就像在欣賞一叢自然生長的雛菊，但我卻更喜歡精緻的韻腳和玫瑰色的意象。相比起來，他後期政治色彩較重的詩更閤我的心意。

Wordsworth的自然觀中一個特彆之處是他對“自然的邪惡性”的理解，他在詩中提及少年時代的不良行為如偷船、殺鳥導緻自然的暴怒，但是在這種語境下，他將自然視作其父母或監護人的代理，自然的“憤怒”具有懲罰和教育意義，而非單純的“作惡”。關於自然“作惡”的觀點在Wordsworth之後的詩歌作品中纔齣現，比如狄金森的Apparently with no surprise和弗羅斯特的directives
